Why the Holy Spirit?

Too many of us live our lives struggling day to day to be a witness for Christ. Jesus was clear to His disciples that they needed the Holy Spirit in order to be a witness for Him. Do you need the Holy Spirit too?

Joy??

The last two days has been awesome. I still have the same work load, same stress, same expectations as a dad, husband, and Pastor. But instead of walking around with a down or burdened attitude, I have been full of joy. I have even surprised myself a little with a little hop in my step and a little laughter in my voice. At first, I was wondering if it was a reaction to the medication I was on for my allergies. But today I have not had any and I still felt the same joy. Even Veronica has made comments of the difference in my attitude. The reality of the source of my joy comes from something so basic. Something that we as Christians easily forget. I have changed my prayer times from my needs to God's will. It is easy to get caught up in the needs of everyday life and the repetition of bringing them to God. Yes, He desires to hear us share our hurts, struggles, and desires. But He also desires us to hear his plan and his will for our lives. I have surrendered to this concept these last few days and have benefited from the Joy in changing my prayers to focus on God's desires. Don't get me wrong, this will not take away your problems. Just because I have joy doesn't mean i have no more issues or struggles. Instead I just see the struggles as another way that I can bring God's will and desire to life. He desires us to be overcomers and to be examples of truth. Well, the best way to do that is to "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness first, and all these things shall be added unto you". Give it a try! I know you won't be disappointed, but you may be surprised in the joy you will experience.
